Natural Perfume Crops

The following useful particulars regarding the times of new crops of perfumery plants, and also the details of the various districts in which the chief French crops are cultivated, are reproduced, by kind permission of the author, from Perfumes, Cosmetics and Soaps, Volume 2, by W.A. Poucher, Ph.C.

Times of New Crops

January. --- Bois de rose, clove, linaloe, bergamot, lemon.

February. ---Cassie, mimosa, bergamot, lemon.

March. ---Violet, citronella, clove, Bourbon geranium.

April. ---Jonquil, narcissus, hyacinth.

May. ---Rose, orange blossom, rosemary, Bourbon vetivert, Algerian geranium, linaloe, thyme.

June. ---Rose, carnation, petitgrain, cassie, bois de rose, vetivert, Bourbon geranium.

July. ---Jasmine, French lavender, Algerian geranium, lime, rose, rosemary, thyme.

August. ---Jasmine, tuberose, lavender (English and French), caraway, lemongrass, English peppermint, Florentine orris.

September. ---Aniseed, jasmin, tuberose, Ceylon citronella, English lavender, palmarosa, English and American peppermint, spearmint, French geranium.
